A follow up to last nights flood, Hernandez pulled up a corner of my carpet and stuck a fan to where it blows under the carpet and I have to keep that on for three days. Moxie thinks she has a new toy and I have something to block out my neighbors loud music!
So raise your hand if you do the same thing: When a disaster hits the first person you call is your MOM! When I was in college babysitting the house alarm went off and before I even called 911 I called my mom first even though she was 2 hours away. Last night I did call maintenance first, but then I called my Mom even though she was 3 hours away! Momma's can always make it better no matter how far away they are.
I have only been in the city for a day now and I have quickly realized that I am no longer in the country. Yesterday my friend and I went to Wal-Mart and (1) I was going to leave without locking my door and (2) I did not see anyone I knew at Wal-Mart. Then another friend told me to come outside and say hello and I walked outside barefoot---I never wore shoes at home, but when I realized I was standing in a gross parking lot barefoot I was grossed out!! It might take a little adjusting to, but hopefully I'll remember to wear shoes to my first day of class tomorrow!!
Wish me luck,
Sissy Ducks

Monitor the apt. to make sure that mold does not develop...Wm. had neighbor's hot water heater flood into his apt. when he lived in Wilm. He kept staying sick...had some test tubes of stuff taken for testing...mold level was at an unacceptable risk...they finally let him leave w/o penalty when we told them we were calling "5 on your side"....
